김태호 화백의 예술적 업적을 보존·연구·계승하기 위해 설립된 본 재단은 경기도 파주에 위치하고 있습니다. 재단은 유작 및 관련 자료를 체계적으로 보존·관리하는 동시에, 전시·교육·학술 연구·디지털 아카이빙 사업을 통해 그의 예술 세계를 국내외 일반 대중과 폭넓게 공유하고자 합니다. 본 재단은 공익을 목적으로 운영되는 비영리 기관으로서, 발생하는 모든 수익은 사회와 문화 발전을 위한 공공의 이익에 환원됩니다. 또한 김태호 화백의 예술을 국제적으로 확산시켜 한국 현대미술의 가치를 세계에 알리는 데 기여하고자 합니다.

Tae-Ho Cultural Foundation was established to preserve, research, and carry forward the artistic legacy of the late Kim Tae-Ho. Located in Paju, Gyeonggi-do, the Foundation systematically conserves his artworks and archival materials while actively promoting exhibitions, educational programs, scholarly research, and digital archiving initiatives.

As a nonprofit organization dedicated to the public good, all income generated by the Foundation is reinvested into cultural development and public benefit. The Foundation is also committed to expanding the international presence of Kim Tae-Ho’s work, fostering greater global recognition of his artistic contributions and advancing the visibility of contemporary Korean art worldwide.

김태호 화백은 반복적인 제작 과정을 통해 화면의 구조를 구축해오신 한국 현대 추상회화의 작가입니다. 1980년대 후반부터 이어진 대표 연작 〈Internal Rhythm〉에서 화백은 물감을 여러 차례 두텁게 쌓아 올린 뒤, 건조된 표면을 깎아내는 방식을 지속적으로 반복하셨습니다.

이 과정에서 화면에는 다층의 색이 축적되며, 긁어낸 자국을 따라 하부 색층이 드러나 고유한 리듬과 구조가 형성됩니다. 물감의 두께와 밀도는 작품에 물리적 깊이를 부여하며, 절제된 조형 질서 속에서 물질적 특성을 분명히 드러냅니다.

Kim Tae-Ho was a Korean abstract painter who constructed pictorial structure through a disciplined and repetitive working process. Since the late 1980s, in his major series Internal Rhythm, he repeatedly applied thick layers of paint onto canvas and, once dried, carved the surface to reveal the underlying strata.

Through this process, multiple layers of color accumulate beneath what appears to be a restrained surface. The exposed lower layers create a distinct rhythm and structural order across the canvas. The density and thickness of the paint lend the works a palpable physical depth, clearly articulating their material presence within a controlled formal framework.
